Reflections

There is magic and mystery surrounding us in the seen and unseen world. And, as in a beautiful symphony, all is held in harmony and order. Through softly blended bright and earthy colours, light, shape, movement and texture my paintings present the gracious and expansive energies of Nature and the Cosmos.

Roots

Growing up on the Canadian Prairie, the colour, light and sky of the subtle, spacious landscape birthed aliveness and freedom in living close to Nature.

As a child, I pondered deep questions about life and what lay beyond this physical reality which influenced my work as an Early Childhood Educator. The reverence and curiosity of young children connected me to the roots of my artistic journey.

Now, as a painter, I live on the east coast of Vancouver Island, and passionately continue to engage in this expression of nature, spirit, light and colour.

Experience

Heidi’s educational background includes studying at Free Columbia Art Center with New York artist Laura Summer as well as engaging in Whole Artist Mastery programs offered by Nationally known artist Marianne Mitchell. Heidi has participated in local group art shows, and her paintings are in private collections across Canada.
